Prothane 1-204-BL Black Control Arm Bushing Kit for Jeep TJ Wrangler 1997-2006 - Heavy Duty Suspension Upgrade for Off-Road & Daily Driving

I have a 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (LJ) that has 105k on it and the factory rubber bushings were cracked and worn. I have been feeling intermittent vibrations coming from the rear axle and decided to replace the old bushings with these.I am a backyard mechanic type maintaining and customizing all of my vehicles and have done everything from brake pads to installing an engine. Installation was not a particularly difficult process that could be done in a driveway. I suggest you have a jack stand, a 21mm & 15mm socket and wrench, BFH(big hammer), and a propane torch. You will also want a ratchet strap to help line the control arms up during reinstallation. I removed only 1 control arm at a time to to make sure the axle did not twist or move from its position. It took me 1-2hrs for each control arm moving at a relaxed pace. I will say that removal and installation of the arms on the passenger side took longer because of the exhaust. I followed all of the instructions and installing the new bushings just took a number of heavy hits via a BFH.Upon driving the Jeep after installing these I no longer have any vibrations on the highway. I would definitely recommend these to anyone with a Jeep TJ/LJ. I installed these on my rear control arms and I plan to buy this kit again for the front control arms.
