It’s a nice brush aluminum unit. More sturdier than I thought it would be. The M10 bolts thread in nicely and they appear to be stainless steel bolts. The only things that I did to help modify this holder was.... first I cut up scrap rubber mat 1/8” and put them behind the 2 clip mounts that get mounted to the tailgate. There is no padding on the clip parts and I didn’t want it mounted strait on my paint.Second I drilled and tapped a 1/4-20 hole toward the bottom of the tube itself so I could run a 1/4-20 bolt through my flag pole so I knew it wouldn’t come out. The tube has no bottom so it would either rest on my bumper or try to have it stay in place with the retention knob that comes with the unit.Over all I am very pleased and with very slight modifications I know my flag won’t budge or hurt my paint!This mount works as it should, easy to install, and holds a broom handle sized pole just right. Make sure the pole you are using inst small enough to by pass the stop that is screwed into the tube for the pole.Very nice product well made. I figured to see if it would work for a jk and it does all I did was put in 1 inch spacer and it works great. Could not see spending 60 bucks for one made for the jk it’s a jeep just have to think outside the box.Holes for the included bolts were not properly machined to the correct size or consistent size. Tried to put one bolt in one of the holes of the bracket to thread onto the other side to tighten and lock the holder in place. Hole was too small and was threading instead of sliding though. When I tried the other bracket, the bolt slid through like it was suppose to, but the part it was supposed to thread into afterwards was too small to even get any bite on the thread of the bolt. Not sure how two identical parts can both be machine incorrectly in two different ways.Update:Ordered a second one and returned the original. The second one was found even worse than the first with the threading not being machined correctly and that the bolts it came with would not fit in the holes at all.Went to a local hardware store to see if I could fine something that would fit to see if I could still salvage this and unfortunately nothing of standard metric or imperial sizes would fit the holes that were machined.Work out great installed behind license plate price was greatAfter installation I found out you cannot open the rear back glass with the tailgate open and a flag in the holder. This is also the same if you have your CB antenna mounted to it. It needs about 1/4 in more room to open the glass from where the antenna mounts. I’ll be looking into a different way to mount my antenna soon though. Other than that, very solid product.
