Anyone with a Jeep should understand this, the fact that a rubber strap is the main thing holding down the hood can seem a bit scary at highway speeds, especially when it is windy! Not sure abought anyone else, but when driving my kite on wheels, the one with the aerodynamics of a brick, that flutter of the hood tends to catch my eye. Though the OEM latches still felt strong and surprisingly hold up well even with daily sunlight for close to 20yrs, it was still something I wanted to change.These aluminum hood latches are just what I needed! Not, that hood is nice and snug. Installation is really easy, something you can't say very often with these machines... The hardest part of the whole thing is just due to the factory choice for the mounting location. The bolt is tucked into an odd location for the main body of the latch. A spot that is right there, in a spot that should be easy, but it's not haha. My recommendation; a high tooth count ratchet and a u-joint adapter. Instillation is straight forward from there.You can somewhat adjust the fit based on where you tighten everything down. I set mine up to be pretty snug, requiring a little pressure on the hood to get the latch on the hood. But that's what I wanted.The flag design is a bit basic, but I like it. I've gotten a few comments on them and everyone likes them!For the price, I'd get them again!
