Mount is great as a secondary but I wouldn't use it as my primary phone holder. Get something more sturdy for that. I use mine to hold my gmrs handheld walkie talkie. When we tried to use this in our jeep as a phone holder for passenger it vibrates and shakes on the freeway. Low speeds sure, it's ok, but at higher speeds with normal road vibration it shakes. Great for my use, very pleased with it for what it is. Easy to install, about 5 minutes.Had to figure out installation. I suggest pulling off the panel below the steering wheel by the drivers knees. This allows you to get a hand hold on the climate panel that has to be removed. Start pulling outward on the AC controls and soon the clips will start popping out. Once the panel is out set it down and then remove the triangular cover on the right hand side of the passenger dash handle. Remove the 10mm bolt. Then find the same bolt on the other side. Once the left side bolt is out pull the handle out enough until the bracket can slide behind it. After getting the bracket in place tighten everything down and get it back together.I installed the phone mount upside down to lower the height of the phone. There is a bit of bounce vibration. Overall I like the simplicity of the bracket but the usage is a little tuff. The phone mount sorta requires two hands. But I love the location. Sweet setup overall.I really wanted it to work. Not many places other than the dash for a phone holder in the jeep. For all the work it took to install, I was really disappointed in how much it bounces. I didn't even make it half the day before I had to remove it bc it was making me dizzy!This was an economical way to put my phone where I wanted it and it has worked well. Install was fairly easy after watching the YouTube video on how to pull the dash. Tucked the cable inside the console and ran it to the center console so it’s out of the way. Has a little bobble on bumpy roads but not horrible. Definitely a better alternative to having the phone blocking a large portion of my windshield.I use this to hold a small portable scanner radio. Before this one, I used one that mounted in the cup opening. It interfered with the shift knobs. This one is away from the knobs but close enough to permit easy use and visibility. It is reasonably easy to mount and is well made.I love the simplicity of it and the fact that it mounts BELOW the top of the dash. All the others seem to position the phone at or around the windshield but this keeps it level(ish) with the Jeeps head unit. Because of the arm length, it does vibrate quite a bit but it definitely stays in place.Easy to install and easily access from driver seatShortly after instalation, the rubber pads became unglued and slipped off. About a year later the plastic bracket for the phone broke. This was 2020 and I barely drove anywhere. This lasted less than a year and was barely used. With daily use Im sure this would brake much sooner. In the questions a reply says to contact for a replacement, but no method of contact.I like how sturdy the metal part is but the plastic part broke. Now I have to take apart the dash again to remove the metal thing.Best Cellphone mount for the JLIn my opinion this is the best cell phone mount for the Jeep JL. I love that you don't have a bunch mount arms cluttering up your dash. This sits below the dashboard leaving you plenty of space for other items you may have in your jeep.the installation is straightforward but does require trim removal tools. Another commenter left great instructions and you can find YouTube videos on how to install it.Great product for a great price. Super easy to navigate with maps, listen to music and call friends with the phone nicely mounted.
